AI Knowledge Assistants That Know What They Don't Know
We build AI knowledge assistants that retrieve from your approved corpus, cite sources, and clearly say when they don't have an answer—without implying completeness.
We work with you to choose which documents and databases the assistant can access. Permissions are enforced at the user level, so different teams see different content based on your rules.
Ingestion and Retrieval
Your approved documents are ingested and indexed with your input on chunking and metadata. Retrieval is designed to return relevant passages, not entire documents, with source citations where supported.
Uncertainty and No-Answer Behavior
The assistant is instructed to use a no-answer response when retrieval evidence is weak, missing, conflicting, or outside scope. That behavior is evaluated but cannot guarantee the model will never fabricate or omit information. Fallbacks route important questions to approved human experts or source systems. Users receive visible reminders to verify consequential answers against cited materials.
Access Filtering and Prompt-Injection Defense
We implement strict access filtering so users only see content they're authorized to view. Retrieved content is treated as untrusted data, and we defend against prompt-injection attempts by isolating instructions from retrieved text.
What the engagement can produce
Practical deliverables
Corpus Inventory
A documented list of approved knowledge sources, including access levels and update owners.
Retrieval Configuration
Settings for chunking, indexing, and retrieval parameters, tuned to your content types and user needs.
No-Answer Playbook
A defined set of responses for uncertain or unsupported queries, including escalation paths to human experts.
Feedback Loop
A mechanism for users to rate responses and flag inaccuracies, feeding into regular system updates.
Let us map approved sources, permissions, retrieval, citations, no-answer behavior, injection resistance, evaluation, and updates for a bounded knowledge assistant.
